Gonadorelin's pyroglutamate amino terminus and C-terminal amide together protect both ends against exopeptidase attack, which gives it better solution stability than an unprotected decapeptide. Kisspeptin-10 is unprotected at the amino terminus and is the shorter-lived of the two in solution.

Kisspeptin-10 acts at KISS1R, also catalogued as GPR54 — the receptor whose loss of function de Roux and Seminara independently identified in 2003 as a cause of hypogonadotropic hypogonadism, establishing kisspeptin signaling as an upstream gatekeeper. Gonadorelin sits one level down: it is not an analog of gonadotropin releasing hormone, it is native GnRH itself, the natural decapeptide. So one vial drives the release of what the other vial contains — a directly sequential relationship no other kit here offers.
